Week 6 EOC: Cambells Soup

Wow, what soup would I declare my favorite? That’s something that I really don’t know, even though it’s a no-brainer for some. I do not eat soup very much now but when I did I believe my favorite would have to have been the classic mix of potatoes and bacon. The only thing that could make it better is finding a brand that mixed bigger pieces of bacon into their recipe. I like this soup as my selection because unlike the flavor that I am going to select as my suggested startup, potatoes and bacon is simple, creamy, and filling. I do not tend to like lighter soups for some reason. Its possible that its because I didn’t grow up with the luxury of being able to just eat something just to add as an “accessory” to a meal. Every time I ordered something things like when I was going to eat next or how much money was available.
During my days as a DirectTv Technician I met a customer who had in their possession a recipe for as soup that they made every Thursday. The recipe had been purchased from a popular seafood restaurant that sits on the bank of a river that feeds from the great Lake Erie. I have been to this place four times and not once have I ordered soup. I didn’t even know that they had a selection of soups on the menu. I absolutely do not like mushrooms and to say that is an understatement. It just doesn’t do any justice for my dislike of them. Since I was a kid there have been countless mushrooms that have been picked out of food and thrown away while my parents weren’t looking. This is why it blew my mind that this mushroom and barley soup was something that I could enjoy. This is what I am recommending any soup company to add to their lineup.

Week 5 EOC: Super Bowl ad 2010

All I can say is wow, to the Doritos commercial with the guy that arrives for his date and then gets put in check by his dates son. Another example of the winning combination of great product, an adorable child, and that child having an adult reaction to a situation with a comedic twist. I think it'll win every time it's used. E-trade has figured this formula out as well, maybe even more so than anyone else since babies that cant even talk are the stars of all their commercials. Of course they are hilariously written also.

Week 4 EOC: Opinion of Mad Men

In my opinion the series "Mad Men is interesting. I don't really have a good or bad opinion necessarily because my personal experience is not in marketing so I do not know how accurate it is. Being accurate is very important to me when watching a program based on a specific topic. It does score points with me for the way they are not sugar coating the way people really interact though. I am slightly curious as to how the rest of it plays out but I do not think that it grabbed my attention enough to be an avid watcher every day or week. I think that all in all my decision is based on the fact that the topic just isn't one that would generally hold my attention.

EOC WEEK 4: Favorite Superbowl Ad

This was a very hard post for me because I absolutely love commercials! I mean try taking a stopwatch, setting it for 60 seconds, and then try to get your point across clearly to a friend. Now try to accomplish this feat in 30 seconds. Now try it in 15 seconds. And then imagine that it's not a friend of yours that might just go on your past reccomendations but instead a complete stranger that you have to convince. Commercials in general are just genious sometimes to me. I think that when it comes to Superbowl Ads my favorite has to be the Pepsi ad that has a little "Curly Sue" receive a botched order in an old neighborhood diner and turn into the Godfather. First of all any time a cute child is involved you have a good chance of winning over the general public. Next I like the idea of taking one of the most iconic movies in history and changing this sweet little kid into arguably the most notorious gangtster ever to grace the big screen. It was great for me because when it comes on my friends know exactly what it is even if they aren't in the room!! All in all I have to say that Pepsi-Cola has been a very consistent force when it comes to their marketing. The commercials are usually on point and they tend to use the adorable child angle very well.

EOC week 3- Great Service

One time that I had excellent customer service was when I went to Brasa. Brasa is a Brazilian steakhouse located in Cleveland, Ohio. I have to say that my expectations were very high. First of all I am very particular about my food and how it is served. On top of that my girlfriend and friends had been telling me how great this place was and that they felt I would have loved it. My girlfriend was confident, but also a little worried because the two of us had experienced quite a few negatively served meals. There was the breakfast where I ordered the “Kitchen Sink” and instead of the crisply cooked bacon that was supposed to be in it, there was rubbery undercooked bacon that was light pink and stretched just like a rubber band.
Oh, and then there was the “Outback” experience where I had to send my bacon wrapped filet back to the cook three times. And if I have to send it back that many times I am defininatle not eating it because rule one is never piss off the cook and then eat whatever it is that is being cooked.
When I went to Brasa the first thing that I was pleased with was the ambiance. It was quiet and cozy but not stuffy. The manager didn’t wait to see if a problem would arise before he showed up to introduce himself. He explained how the establishment operated and asked us to flag him if any issues arose and he would handle them personally. All of the staff showed us the same type of attention. I never had to flag him down because not only did he come by to share a few jokes but he also told a few of the servers to stay in earshot range so that we never had to wait.
I really don’t know why he took to us the way he did. Maybe it was because we are all a fun bunch to be around. Whatever the case was it made me feel really special. It was such a memorable outing that I would recommend it on the service alone.

Eoc week 2 - My Demograph

Well , what can I say, being born part of generation x has been a great experience so far. I am old enough to have still experienced some of the things that the baby boomers experienced but young enough to still be part of one of the most advanced. Technology has blossomed, we are very opinionated people, as a group we are not as apt to just settle for things and bite the bullet as our parents were. We are more likely to do something because we aren’t happy doing the current. Just look at the divorce rate skyrocketing. I do realize that those numbers aren’t only in relation to us but who can deny the fact that less of us are following the “normal” pattern for life that our parents time. I think our biggest issues will be when we reach those “golden” years and have to deal with all the issues that are being left for us.

Eoc week 2 - Favorite fast food

My Favorite fast food as a child would have had to be anything from McDonalds. Growing up in a family as big as mine whenever we were fortunate enough to do a little splurging, the next question was where do we go that everyone can enjoy something without spending to much per person. Ding, ding, ding McDonalds it was!!!! I mean at the time you could get cheeseburgers for fifty cents and spending less than five dollars including your ice cream cone that was so huge you could barely eat it fast enough for it not to melt all over the place. It was more of a race to see who could keep up than whether you were going to look greedy for finishing your first one and still feeling a little dissatisfied so you order another. And those fries!!! Wow, those were worth the trip all by themselves. Fresh, hot, and salted to perfection. That is of course before you had idiots ordering items that they want to be hot when they purchase them suing the places because they couldnt tell that the items with the steam coming off of them were hot and should be eaten like they are.

Eoc week 1

How do we grow as people? Teaching, learning, adapting, living, loving, crying, laughing, and even mourning to name a few.

With all the different races, creeds, and colors that habitat this earth it’s really amazing that we all still share the same basic needs and emotions. I’ve been in the video industry for ten years now and my ultimate goal is to educate. I believe that educating is the only way to make sure we don’t make the same mistakes we have in the past. We have already lived through lifetimes of horrible times and events and I don’t think we as a people can afford to live through them again.

I love to capture life, be it past or present, happy or depressing, right or wrong. Sometimes further research is needed before it can be shared, and sometimes you have to just serve it raw. All in all it’s up to each one of us to find our niche and use it to make this place we all call home just a little bit better.

This is the greatest opportunity because of all the people that you meet, the freedom you enjoy, and the creativity that you get to show. I have had from family members to a secretary-of-state as clients. I feel like the sky is the limit and I’m reaching for it.
